Chatbots are typically used in dialog systems for various practical purposes including customer service or information acquisition.

This customer service chatbot was developed to represent an organization at a 37th annual GITEX Technology week held on 8th - 12th Oct 2017.

Here, the purpose of developing a Chatbot is to meet and greet each visitor coming to attend GITEX event based on their gender or religion. The Chatbot needs to be deployed on an Android tablet which is mounted on a robot's face.

A conversational bot needs to be developed in such an intelligent way that it will automatically scan visitor's conference badge and identify whether the person is male, female or a native sheikh person.

  • When a visitor faces towards tablet's camera, the Chatbot automatically recognize whether the person is male, female or a native sheikh and greets them accordingly.
  • The Chatbot asks the visitors to show their conference badge for scanning, after successful scanning the Chatbot will personally greet visitors with their name (implementation of Google Dialogflow technology) and ask about their area of interest.
  • Based on interest shown by a visitor, Chatbot will show some videos and tutorials.
  • Solution also integrates with the backend CRM system to capture the visitor data.
  • The Chatbot is also implemented on the website to answer customer queries.
In general, Chatbot is used to avoid the dependency on agents which can handle only few conversations at the same time and also proves to be very helpful for businesses that receive lot of enquiries on daily basis.
